recommends Superslick key oil to keep moving parts moving and corrosion free
.
Superslick Key Oil: A fine grade key oil supplied in a bottle
with a pin point applicator to ensure the oil goes where it's supposed to. Apply, once every 6-9 months, placing a single drop at the point where key rods are supported by posts.
Don't use more often than this or use more than a drop. Excess oil on the sax can attract dust and dirt and find its way under the adhesive used to adhere small cork pieces to the keys. Price: $5.49
.
Selmer Tuning Slide and Cork Grease: A medium density
lubricant with high tack properties. Use for key rod ends, along roll screws (the long headless screws that support some keys) and on corks. Will not run over your instrument.
Can help to quiet noisy key mechanisms due to wear. 1.5oz bottle Price: $2.99
Selmer Cork Grease: A thick, clean, white grease-type
lubricant for saxophone neck and key corks. Massage into the pores of the cork for a long lasting effect. Can also help to quiet parts where 2 keys contact each other. 4.2 gram tube Price: $1.50
