Polished brass,
Clear lacquered

This is the traditional finish which protects the golden color from tarnishing.

Polished Brass,
Clear Lacquered, Engraved

Same as above WITH hand Engraved Bow and Bell

Black lacquered,
Engraved

This striking finish comes from black lacquer applied to the body while the keys and the interior of the bell are polished and clear lacquered. Engraving on the bell and bow exposes the golden color of the brass underneath. The whole body is then clear lacquered to protect the engraving from tarnishing.

Brushed, Engraved,
Clear lacquered

a.k.a Matte. This subtle but elegant finish comes from the contrast between a brushed, not polished body and keys which are polished and clear lacquered.  Bell and bow are fully engraved and the whole body is then clear lacquered to protect the engraving from tarnishing.

Silver-plated,
Engraved

This gorgeous finish is stronger than lacquer and improves tonal brightness and power by virtue of eliminating the high frequency sound absorption of lacquer finishes.

Yanagisawa
B901 / B902: These professional models are professional caliber horns with the tonal accuracy and quality workmanship Yanagisawa are renowned for at a very reasonable price because they lack some of the refinements the upper level models offer.
B991 / B992 / B9930 : The enhanced professional B991 and its solid bronze B992 and Solid 95% Pure Silver neck and body B9930 variants are serious professional caliber horns with the tonal accuracy and quality workmanship Yanagisawa are renowned for.

B901
Polished Brass,
Clear Lacquered, Engraved

The professional B901 is the single best value in serious baritone saxophones becaue it employs the same tubing and tone hole geometry and alloy as the B991. This is the traditional finish which protects the golden color from tarnishing with  hand Engraved Bow and Bell.

B902
Solid Bronze Body,
 Yellow Brass Keywork,
Clear lacquered, Engraved

This saxophone shares every construction detail with the B901 except for the fact that the neck, body, bow and engraved bell are made of bronze with a clear lacquer coat to protect it. This metal imparts a sound with greater emphasis on the fundamental and is for those who value the unique dark sound and deeper coloration only a bronze instrument provides.

B991
Yellow Brass
Body and Keywork,
Gold  lacquered, Engraved

The B991 has several significant enhancements over the B901.
1) Fully ribbed body. These reinforcements under the keywork posts help maintain key and rod alignment.
2) Double arm key mechanisms for the low C and B keys keep these troublesome keys rock solid. Only Yanagisawa offer this feature.
3) Improved low C#-B seesaw mechanism facilitates this transition.
4) Gold-plated thumb hook and rest resists corrosion and abrasion.
5) G# touch in pearl, not lacquered brass.
6) Adjustable felt bumper screws in brass, not plastic.

B992 / B992P
Solid Bronze Body,
 Yellow Brass Keywork,
Clear lacquered, Engraved

This saxophone shares every construction detail with the B991 except for the fact that the neck, body, bow and engraved bell are made of bronze with a clear lacquer coat to protect it. This metal imparts a sound with greater emphasis on the fundamental and is for those who value the unique dark sound and deeper coloration only a bronze instrument provides.
B992P adds a removable floor peg support.

B9930
Solid 95% Pure Silver
Neck, Crook and Body,
Yellow Brass Bow and Bell, Clear Lacquered, Engraved

This model is a B991 with a Solid 95% Pure Silver neck, crook and body. Keywork, bow and bell are brass. Solid silver has a smoother tonal quality than brass and this unique horn is sweet sounding. Not as dark as the B992 and not as bright as the B991.

Brancher France baritones combine a fresh set of technical achievements in design using an intelligent combination of high tech French made and Taiwan produced parts. The result is a centered sound with a very complex sound and incredible power and intonation performance. Nothing short of wonderful. A terrific value without compromise on quality, Brancher's saxophones are going to challenge perceptions of what is possible at a moderate price.

Rampone & Cazzani R1 baritone saxophones are the most unusual of the modern baris. Big bore construction makes these horns the biggest, fattest sounding horns made. The long neck design is reminiscent of old Conns, but make no mistake, these horns are modern in every respect except for their warm sound. R1 Jazz versions add "red" (high copper content) brass to the sound tube and precious metal plating with beautiful hand engraving. Click here for more info.
